They felt parliament was a bulwark to the king, the loss of freedom and fundemental liberties, the king had the desire to impose the colonies, the parlement refused because they felt the royal instruction was not in favor of the colony. The situation deteriorated after the king of Paris. The succession of taxes is going to bring the opposition on the colonies.Fisrt of all they were restriction on the colonies on imports, trade. The limitation on gold damage the colonies economy and limited their capacities on buying goods to the mother country. The americans were forbidden to produce money by themself, this felt it affected their degree of autonomy. The trials by jury were forbidden, this was an unfair form of justice, and benjamin franklin reproech england with having no longers trial by jury. They did not have the permission to make paper money. The olive branch petition that was set to the king, he refuse to receive the person who was bringing it, his attitude was not flexible.

The colonist were no more ready to make concession, even if the parlement compromise their are not Ok anymore with it, it is not the letter of the document, i twas the very idea of taxation. The external taxes and internal taxes were not the same at all, external taxes were on the good that came from abroad while internal taxes were on everything in the land. The external taxe were ok, because you could buy or not the good, while you are forced to pay the internal taxe, i twas on books, for marriage… »no taxation with no representation. It was a violation of the bill of right. The idea of a potential war between america and angland, and the separartion of the mother country. It is england’s fault.
