The beginning of the story of this text began in Breat Britain. The Pilgrins Father decided in 1606 to leave Great Bitain. They settled in Leyde in Netherlands. But Spain threatened Netherland and hence Spain was a catholic country, the pilgrins father asked the King of Britain for a pattern to settled in America

This text might be considered the embryo of a constitution but the context is totally different from the context of the Constitution. Be careful, the two docuents can’t be really compared Throughout the lines of this text, there is the idea of a legitimate government. The puritan spirit is well seen, even though the passenger of the Mayflower weren’t all puritans.
